Intent designs intentional mobile devices for a distracted world.
We create minimalist phones and operating systems that remove digital noise while preserving the essential tools requiered to function in modern society. Our products are built for people who want control, clarity, and focus - not more apps, notifications, or endless scrolling.
Mission
INTENT was created to address a growing and widely felt problem:
Modern smartphones make it increasingly difficult to live deliberately.
Endless scrolling, constant stimulation, and fragmented attention have become normal. At the same time, many people who want to step away from smartphones discover that the alternatives available today are either ineffective or impractical.
Early attempts to solve this problem focused on software.
Minimalist launchers and digital detox tools provided short-term relief, but rarely lasted. The underlying system remained unchanged. Dumb phones, while well-intentioned, introduced a different limitation altogether — they removed essential tools required to function in modern society, such as WhatsApp, navigation, and digital payments.
This revealed a clear gap.
Intents Story
The project began with a long period of experimentation, testing, and iteration to answer a simple question:
What does someone actually need from a phone today — and nothing more?
The result is a device designed around a small set of essentials:
WhatsApp, for communication
Maps, for navigation
Wallet, for everyday payments
Music, for daily life
Everything else was intentionally removed.
As the experience evolved, it became clear that this approach offered something fundamentally different. It wasn’t a restriction layered on top of a smartphone, nor a return to outdated devices. It was a deliberate redesign — a phone that remains compatible with modern life while supporting a calmer, more intentional way of using technology.
INTENT exists to offer what had been missing:
a minimalist phone, closer to a dumb phone in spirit, that still works in the 21st century.
No endless customization.
No engagement-driven design.
No exaggerated promises.
Just a carefully prepared device, built to be used — and then put away.
INTENT is an independent project developed with clarity, restraint, and respect for the user’s attention. Each device is prepared intentionally, reflecting the same philosophy it represents.
This is not a rejection of technology.
It is a decision to use it with purpose.
